My purpose is to create spaces where women and mothers can slow down, reconnect, and feel supported.

Hello! I am Chantal – certified doula, voice and singing facilitator, and a mother of two girls. Through voice, doula support, and gentle guidance, I create spaces where women can tune out the noise and reconnect with what feels true inside. I live in Meilen on Lake Zurich, yet my heart beats internationally: I spent many years working in international development and humanitarian settings alongside women and children around the world.

The name chantamama comes from my own name, Chantal, and echoes the word “chant,” reflecting the calming and connecting power of singing. It also honours PachaMama—Mother Earth—and expresses my deep respect for nature and the wisdom women carry to create and nurture life.

More about me:

As the mother of two girls—both born in South America with the support of a doula—I learned how important steady, compassionate support is during pregnancy, birth, and the early weeks of motherhood. Experiencing birth in another country also showed me how deeply it matters to feel understood and held. Like many mothers, I’ve known moments of loneliness and overwhelm, which strengthened my wish to create a supportive, intergenerational community where women don’t walk this path alone.

Pregnancy also reconnected me with something I carried long before motherhood: my love of singing. Simple songs helped me stay grounded, connected to myself, and in touch with my intuition. They brought calm and presence during pregnancy and the early months with my daughters — and they continue to support me every day.

Before starting chantamama, I spent many years working in development and humanitarian settings around the world, focused on improving the lives of women and children. Witnessing how pregnancy and motherhood are experienced across cultures shaped my belief that every woman deserves respectful care and a supportive community.

Born in Switzerland, raised mostly in the United States, and shaped by life across different parts of the world, I hold space with openness, curiosity, and deep respect for each woman’s story. Through chantamama, I bring women and mothers together across generations — through singing groups, doula services, women’s circles, and 1:1 support — creating spaces to restore, relax, and reconnect through voice, community, and shared experience.

To change the world, we must first change the way that babies are being born.
